Announcement of CAAF's Next President and CEO

Carol BellringerCAAF’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce Carol Bellringer as the next President and CEO of the Foundation.

“Ms. Bellringer brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in auditing and oversight to this role. We are certain that her leadership will greatly benefit the Foundation, its members and the communities we serve,” said Evangeline Colman-Sadd, Chair of CAAF’s Board of Directors.

Ms. Bellringer has been a leader in the Canadian legislative auditing community for many years, having been both the Auditor General of British Columbia (2014-2019) and the Auditor General of Manitoba (1993-1996 & 2006-2014). She possesses an extensive background in conducting financial and performance audits, as well as investigations. Her prior roles also include serving as the city auditor for the City of Winnipeg, management positions with KPMG in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg, and several board positions. Currently, she is a member of the Canadian Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council.

Throughout her career, she has shown dedication to advancing the profession and supporting the auditing community, which was recognized by the Chartered Accountants of Manitoba in 2006, and B.C. in 2015, when she was named a Fellow.

Ms. Bellringer has been a proud supporter of the Foundation. She served on our Board of Directors from 1994 to 1996 and from 2009 to 2012 and has contributed to many CAAF initiatives, including by traveling abroad in support of our international program and hosting international Fellows at her office in British Columbia.

“I am honoured to take on the role of President and CEO at the Foundation and look forward to helping promote and strengthen public sector performance audit, oversight, and accountability through CAAF’s activities,” mentions Ms. Bellringer.

Ms. Bellringer is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University, Montreal, and an MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics/University of Quebec at Montreal.

Ms. Bellringer will assume the position September 8, following the retirement of John Reed.
