International Fellows Graduate in Virtual Ceremony

Meet the Fellows

Visit the Fellows’ online yearbook to learn about the Fellows, their audit plan projects and their experiences in Canada, and to see their individual videos and photos. And don’t miss the Fellowship video below.

Congratulations to our 2019-2020 international Fellows, who have now graduated from the program. While COVID-19 meant that the final months of the Fellowships looked a little different this year, these eight performance auditors successfully completed their placements at Canadian audit offices, participated in CAAF training, and each developed a plan for an audit that they will lead in their country. They are now returning to work at the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of Guyana, Rwanda, Senegal and Vietnam, prepared to implement and share their new knowledge.

In late June, we held our first-ever virtual graduation event, bringing together many partners from the four participating countries and from across Canada to celebrate the Fellows’ accomplishments. During the ceremony, we heard from 27 presenters, including the Fellows themselves, who spoke about their audit plan topics, and senior representatives of their SAIs, their Canadian host offices, and our funding partner, Global Affairs Canada.

CAAF has delivered Fellowships since 1980; the 2019-2020 Fellows now join 255 previous graduates, from 54 countries. These current Fellowships are part of our 2018-2025 International Governance, Accountability and Performance Program, which aims to improve the effectiveness of performance auditing and parliamentary oversight in Guyana, Rwanda, Senegal, and Vietnam.

As CAAF’s President and CEO, John Reed, said during the ceremony, “Each year, this graduation event is an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved together over the past year and to thank all those who make this international program possible.” CAAF thanks the organizations below for their support of this year’s Fellowships and for their ongoing contributions to our international program:
