Darren W. Noonan, CPA, CA Auditor General of Prince Edward Island

Darren was appointed the Auditor General of Prince Edward Island in May 2020, to serve for a 10- year mandate. He works on behalf of the residents of Prince Edward Island to hold the government accountable and to improve government transparency. He reports at least annually to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island.

Prior to joining the legislative audit community, Darren worked in a medium-sized public practice firm in Charlottetown, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1992. He worked in public practice for 16 years and was a partner with his firm in the later years of his tenure. Darren left public practice to pursue an opportunity to become a partner/operator in an automotive dealership group on Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. The automotive dealership group started with two stores and grew to five stores, before being sold to a large regional automotive group in 2019.

Darren has served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Prince Edward Island and the Prince Edward Island Automobile Dealers Association, and has contributed to numerous non-profit organizations, community groups, and industry associations over the years.

Darren also holds a BBA from the University of Prince Edward Island.
