Abdalla Hamid is the Director, Professional Development, responsible for leading the professional development team to create and deliver high-quality training products and services to CAAF members and clients, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Abdalla has extensive international experience in public and private sector auditing mainly in the performance audit and IT audit disciplines. Most recently, he worked with the Office of the Auditor General of New Brunswick, where he held the position of Director of Performance Audit for six years. He previously worked as a Deputy Auditor General in the National Audit Chamber of Sudan. He provided leadership to major transformation initiatives to modernize the audit and operational processes of the Chamber, including strategic planning, capacity building and process improvement programs. He led the establishment of the specialized audits sector which included the Performance Audit, Information Technology Audit and Forensic Audit departments. He also oversaw the quality assurance and training functions and represented the Chamber in international and regional committees and forums within the public sector audit community. Abdalla started his professional career with KPMG. He worked in the London (UK) and Toronto offices for a total of eight years in the Information Risk Management practice. He subsequently worked as the Director of Information Systems at the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, a regional multilateral financial institution based in Sudan. Abdalla is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA) and a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA, UK). He also holds Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designations. |
